The 2019 90+ Cellars Lot 113 Lodi Big Red Blend begins with an excellent mix of blackberry, red cherry, spice, vanilla, licorice and leather aromas. All it takes is just one sniff to know that this is not your typical sub-$10 wine. Tasting reveals similar flavors to the nose with lots of juicy fruit. Just slightly sweet, this wine doesn’t need monstrous amounts of oak to cover up all the sugar like so many of the other popular red blends. It ends with a very satisfying, long finish with excellent tinges of oaky spice.
